Version2.0 introduces preferences and modifier keys. Pressing the shift key while launching the app will modify the paths based on your preferences, which can be opened by launching the app with the option key down.

I have been waiting for an app like this for years! I was excited to see CopyPath 2.0 on MacUpdate’s website. Unfortunately, it does not work for me. I put in it at the top of my Finder window but when I select a file and click on it nothing happens. Anyone else having trouble?

Glad to hear this is an app you have been waiting for! Hopefully we can get it working for you.

Here are two potential things that could make this application not work.
    1. This application uses technologies that are only available in OS X Leopard. I have not tried CopyPath on previous versions of OS X so I am not sure how this will fail, but I know it will not work because the libraries to talk to the finder do not exist.
    2. CopyPath for the most part is a “silent” application, meaning a window will only popup when you hold down the option key while launching the application. No window will be displayed if you launch CopyPath with out holding down the option key.

If you select some files, press the CopyPath button then paste into a text document you should get the paths of the selected files.

We figured out the problem independently and confirmed it via email.

If you run into a problem like this it is probably because an instance of CopyPath has crashed for some reason.

If when you click launch CopyPath and nothing happens, especially if the finder defocuses, open the Activity Manager: /Applications/Utilities/Activity Monitor.app and force quite CopyPath. It should work after this.

This will be added to the FAQ we are working on for CopyPath, and we will try to figure out a better solution for later releases.
